Poul Schmith is pleased to welcome you to our seminar on Nature-Based Carbon Credits with speakers from Agreena, Klimate.co and Poul Schmith/Kammeradvokaten.

BACKGROUND

Following our seminar on 10 June 2024 regarding Verified Carbon Credits and the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM), this seminar aims to shed light on the importance, opportunities, and challenges facing Nature-Based Carbon Credits.

Carbon Credits have both globally and in Denmark emerged as a pivotal tool to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and for promoting the green transition. Nature-Based Carbon Credits, derived from activities like reforestation, afforestation, and soil carbon sequestration, offer a sustainable way to offset carbon emissions and co-benefits of helping the biodiversity while sequestering carbon.

The integrity and impact of carbon credits depend heavily on rigorous verification and due diligence processes. Ensuring transparency, accountability, and quality in the carbon credits verification is essential for maintaining the integrity of carbon markets and driving meaningful climate action.

TAKEAWAYS

The seminar will give you an understanding of Nature-Based Carbon Credits, their benefits, and challenges, and you will be given insights in real life projects and learn from their practical lessons and best practices. Furthermore, you will get the opportunity to obtain an understanding of the verification and due diligence processes for carbon credits based on real life experiences from esteemed market players.
